This notice is a Combined Synopsis/Solicitation for commercial items using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This acquisition will be made in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6 “Streamlined Procedures for Evaluation and solicitation for commercial Items,” as applicable, and as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation (a written solicitation will not be issued) and quotes are being requested. The Solicitation number is RFQ-NIAID-25-2261543 and the solicitation is issued as a Request for Quotes (RFQ).
This acquisition will be processed under FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The solicitation documents and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2025-3 January 17, 2025.
The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 325414, Biological Product (except Diagnostic) Manufacturing, with a size standard of 1,250 employees. The requirement is being competed with a brand name restriction, and without a small business set-aside.
Project Description:
The NIH, NIAID, LISB, has a current requirement for 10X Genomics reagents. The LISB investigates basic aspects of innate and adaptive immune function and how the body responses to viral infections. Using new technologies, LISB aims to understand the complex dynamics of the virus-host interactions to be able to perturb the system and produce a positive outcome. The LISB is divided up into multiple labs with varying specialties. The Schwartzberg Lab applies Xenium Prime 5K kit technologies to improve our understanding of how tissue resident lymphocyte contribute to the prevention or the establishment of autoimmune manifestations in exocrine, endocrine and mucosal tissues in mouse models of primary immunodeficiencies. This type of knowledge is expected to improve our understanding of the role of tissue-resident lymphocytes in the development of autoimmunity to be able to better treat autoimmune diseases. These items are for an ongoing projects to sequence and analyze samples from patients with a rare disease involving a partial truncation of the IL-6 receptor.
