Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Bureau of Parks and Lands is seeking to have three 8’ x 8 ’x 10’ fire tower cabs airlifted onto existing towers on three different sites in Northern Maine. Cabs need to be centered on top of the towers and positioned so they can be bolted onto the tower. The contractor is responsible for all aspects of placing the cabs on the towers It will be the contractor’s responsibility to supply all materials and labor necessary to rig the cabs. The individual cab weight will not exceed 3,000 pounds including all rigging. Dry weight without rigging per cab is 2,400#. The cabs will be staged within 4 air miles of each tower site. This will be done by BPL staff. The contractor is responsible for visiting the sites to assess their suitability for service. This needs to be done at least 3 days prior to the airlifting. Existing tower cabs will be removed by the Bureau at no cost to the contractor. The Bureau will split the proposal into 3 parts: Rigging cabs to be lifted, Airlifting and setting the cabs onto the towers An hourly helicopter rate for unanticipated contingencies The Bureau anticipates making one award as a result of this RFP.
