VR2Tx-69kHz Coded Acoustic Receiver with Transponder; Acoustic Receivers being purchased here will need to be compatible with previously purchased acoustic receivers (Innovasea VR2W) that the University of Maine plans is providing in support of the collaborative research. Innovasea is the sole developer, manufacturer, and supplier of the Vemco line of acoustic telemetry receivers, transmitters, receiver upgrades and receiver accessories (and all associated software) needed to complete the work. Vemco coded transmitters and monitoring receivers use Innovasea owned proprietary technology and coding techniques. These are not based on an open standard. This technology provides vast numbers of unique tag IDs to allow for interoperability and compatibility of over 20,000 Vemco receivers deployed worldwide (including those being matched from the University of Maine). The receivers being used for the intended lake studied must allow for the 3-dimensional localization methods that they plan to use. Receivers will need to have a minimum of a 300- meter range detection under normal conditions and must operate on a 69 kHz frequency. A maximum depth of 500 meters is desired and a battery life of up to greater than 13 months and storage of 3 million detections is required. There is no comparable product on the market that has these requirements and that allows for direct compatibility with existing hardware; Quantity: 27; Magnetic Activation Probe for Acoustic Receivers; Quantity: 2
