Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. General Requirements 1) During normal working days (Monday-Friday except holidays on which the court is closed), snow accumulated during the preceding night or non-work day must be cleared prior to 7:00 a.m. 2) During normal working hours (7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday), the removal of snow will begin after the accumulation of 2" of snow under normal conditions but will be subject to the Facilities Engineer’s discretion. 3) Contractor shall be responsible for complying with all local ordinance regarding working times. (yorkmaine.org) 4) Work involves all of the following that are adjacent to or part of the facility: a. Driveways b. Parking Areas c. Walkways d. Ramps e. Steps f. Entrances. These areas must be cleared of accumulated, drifted, and ice packed snow, and sanded and salted anytime there is accumulation of snow or ice. 5) Sand/salt mix must be provided by the contractor for: a. Parking lot areas b. All walkways c. Ramps and steps The Contractor will provide an environmentally friendly magnesium chloride ice melt product like Meltco de-icer or Blue Blaze melter. The Contractor will make containers available at all entrances for the Building Manager to use as needed throughout the day. 6) The Contractor shall have an adequate sanding truck to service all areas under the awarded contract. a. A sanding unit capable of uniformly distributing sand on driveways and parking lot surfaces and equipped with controls that provide varying application rates must be available for use on the awarded contract. 7) The Owner will take photographs of all lawns, curbing and bollards prior to the beginning of this contract. These photos will be shared with the Contractor, and the Contractor shall be responsible for all damages to the Owner’s property caused by either equipment or operator error. 8) The Contractor shall keep snow levels behind all curbs at the traffic intersections of the Judicial Branch lots, streets and external circulation areas below the level for clear visibility of vehicle operators. Temporary snow piles can be managed and piled on-site in areas designated by the Facilities Engineer.
