Main Area: Due to the facility having an entrance gate on the drive the plowing will all have to happen after 6am and before 4pm, when employees are at the facility. This means that night/weekend/holidays will not be available for plowing (unless previous arrangements are made with the POC at the facility, and no overtime is occurred by the facility. The snow plowing is triggered when an event happens where 2inches of snow accumulates. The area must be passable by 9am and cleared within 6 hours. Travel ways and primary parking areas are to be handled first. On the legend of the map travel ways are denoted by dark grey areas (Pavement) and the additional parking by the light grey mottled area (Gravel). Please note there is concrete curbing located between the pavement an the environmental impact areas. Also there is concrete curbing located at the end of the gravel area, before the environmental impact area on the south of the lot, and to the north of the secure compound. The contractor may have to return to plow and sand multiple times, depending on the severity and duration of the storm. Any time weather conditions create unsafe parking lot and road surfaces because of an accumulation of ice, such as melting and refreezing, and wind-caused drifts, Contractor shall initiate sanding/salting operations. When the snow accumulation during the day gets to 2 inches the travel areas must be kept clear and sanded. The parking areas must be kept clear where no vehicles are. These 2 areas total 136,044sq.ft. (3.12 acres) Note this includes from the “yellow” gate up to the parking areas. Secure Area: The secure area is denoted on the map in blue mottled and solid markings (Solid and mottled Blue). This area requires special access from the military employees to unlock and open the gates as it is fenced in. This area is 54,954ft sq (approx. 1.26 acres) They will allow access through the gates during normal work hours of 0630-330 Monday through Friday, except for federal holidays. Snow Piles (considered part of the primary bid) There is one area designated for snow piles to be placed. It is denoted by areas marked with red small circle areas to the north side of the map (Red). This area is 15,525 sq.ft (combined). This is the only area where snow can be piled. The rest of the area around the facility is environmental impact zones, and therefore cannot have snow piled or dumped in or around these filtration beds.
