A review of the United States Fish and Wildlife Service’s National Wetland Inventory (NWI) database indicates that a riverine wetland is located approximately 80 feet east of the project area. Given the proximity of the project site to a wetland, BJA has determined that the proposed project may impact nearby wetlands and, therefore, requires analysis under the 8-Step Decision-Making Process. This notice provides an opportunity for those potentially affected by activities in proximity to the wetland and those who have an interest in the protection of the natural environment to express their concerns and provide information. Commenters are encouraged to offer alternative methods for achieving the project’s purpose and to minimize and mitigate impacts.
