Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Regulatory Requirements Security Alarm equipment must be UL approved. The alarm equipment must meet UL Central Monitoring Station standards. All necessary permits for work completed must be obtained from the City of Baton Rouge. All electrical and communication systems used must meet the standards of the BRCC IT Department and Facilities Department All equipment, systems and material furnished and installed shall be installation in accordance with the standards of National Codes: NEC, NFPA and UBC All equipment, systems and material furnished and installed shall be installation in accordance with the standards of local authorities having jurisdiction 2. General BRCC PD Requirements for Security Alarm System Alarm Design should include an option for Security Alarm transmitting devices that are cellular GSM. Prior to mounting an alarm panel any obstructions that would block or reduce the cellular signal strength should be considered. Alarm Design can include telephone landlines, radio transmission or IP transmission, but a backup method specified for transmission to the Central Monitoring Station is required for the bid. Security Alarm panel boxes are to be mounted and hard-wired into BRCC Facility power. Should power be unavailable a battery backup power source (three hours of normal operation) or preferably BRCC Facility generator power must be connected.
