Specifications include, but are not limited to: ● Content Leaders are able to apply content knowledge, investigate, evaluate, and reason scientifically, and connect ideas across disciplines to the level of understanding expected of students as called for by the standards. ● Science Content Leaders have a strong understanding of the Science and Engineering Practices, Disciplinary Core Ideas, and Crosscutting Concepts for the grade band. ● Essential elements of high quality science curriculum include: ○ explaining phenomena and designing solutions to provide purpose and opportunity for learning, ○ three-dimensional teaching and learning to develop and apply understanding, and; ○ authentic engagement in reading, writing, and speaking to develop scientific literacy
