A. The contractor will provide services for students who are serving expulsion terms during the 2025- 2026 school year. Additional students may qualify for the program as referred by the Sending School, by agreement of the Parent, Sending School, and The Program pursuant to policy set forth in the unified enrollment system by NOLA-PS. Students who are referred to the Student Hearing Office for an expulsion and found not-guilty, or who complete a disciplinary conference, may not be referred to the program within 30 days of the expulsion hearing or disciplinary conference. The Program shall not deny enrollment to any 7th or 8th grade student found guilty through the Student Hearing Office expulsion process. The Program will provide intensive supports, both academically and behaviorally, to address and remediate the needs of students’ underlying behavior. Evidence-based academic and behavioral assessments must be used to inform interventions and support services for every student. B. Students who are referred to the Student Hearing Office and who are subsequently expelled off campus will remain under the jurisdiction of the Sending School and will have ultimate responsibility for compliance with all local, state and federal policies and regulations, including state testing. C. Whenever possible and feasible, NOLA-PS will provide support from staff content experts and help to align resources, both within the district and within the community, to support the students in the program. Orleans Parish School Board may provide, upon request and within existing capacity, support in the pre-opening stages to assist with program development and operations.
