Specifications include, but are not limited to: Contractor will assist the Board of Regents by carrying out an assessment of the need for, and feasibility of, creating a new institution of postsecondary education, or establishing a branch of an existing institution, to provide a juris doctor program in the Shreveport-Bossier area, i.e., a Law School. Contractor will conduct and review regional analyses to develop an assessment of how the state can best meet the legal education needs of students and the economic and workforce development needs of the Shreveport-Bossier region, including but not limited to meeting these needs through establishing a campus, and to include a compilation of state agency data about legal workforce shortage areas in the labor market regions, particularly in regions 6, 7, and 8. Contractor will prepare a set of recommendations regarding the establishment of a law school in the Shreveport-Bossier area. In formulating the recommendations, Contractor will: Draw on analyses of participation and workforce needs to arrive at preliminary conclusions regarding unmet needs for a law school; Analyze trends in law school enrollment as well as employment statistics of law school graduates.
