Specifications include, but are not limited to: a. Contractor shall be required to install all glass components such as door glass, back glass, side door glass and windshield, materials and weather stripping for all automotive and heavy equipment operated by the City. b. Installation shall include: i. Removal of all mechanical components required to install glass products ii. Remove and re-install all optional equipment on windshields such as rearview mirrors, city brake tags, bridge toll tags, and police installed equipment such as windshield mounted cameras, traffic monitoring equipment, etc. iii. Clean new installed glass and remove any broken glass from the vehicle (inside and outside). c. All automotive glass products and installation shall be according to the vehicle manufacturers’ specifications. d. Contractor shall provide all types of glass repair and replacement services, including all parts and labor. e. Auto and equipment glass Repair and replacement are to be performed within twenty-four (24) hours of receipt of purchase order and work order. a. Contractor shall have a full service glass repair facility located within a thirty (30) minute drive of the Equipment Maintenance Division, 3800 Alvar St., New Orleans, LA 70126. b. Contractor shall provide mobile glass replacement and repair services to various locations (job sites) in Orleans Parish. c. The City shall determine whether glass replacement and repair are performed at either the contractor’s repair facility or at another location through mobile repair services. d. Contractor shall have the equipment necessary to, cut to size and install safety glass for automotives and heavy equipment. e. Contractor shall submit to the City a current published “NAGS” (National Auto Glass Specifications) list price used to determine the percentage discount. f. The Contractor must provide a secure area at their site for any vehicle or equipment left overnight.
