Specifications include, but are not limited to: The North Carolina State University Department of History (hereafter referred to as History Department)seeks proposals from qualified web designers for to replace its existing website(http://history.chass.ncsu.edu). This RFP provides the requirements for the work, an outline for sitecontent as well as sample forms. No website content is included in this RFP. The awarded vendor shall provide website design for hosting on University servers.The design shall meet all of the following requirements:3.1 Conforms to the University's standards for accessibility and user security(http://www.ncsu.edu/policies/campus_environ/non-discrimination/REG04.25.5.php) .3.2 Retain the existing block NC State University, department logo, and links across the top of the currentpage as well as the CHASS graphic on the bottom of the current page, though these elements need not beas large as they are on the current site.3.3 Provide a design that is clean, open, intuitive, clear, organized, and easy to use. It shall be aneffective tool for current students and faculty, and an attractive and engaging window on the departmentfor prospective students and donors.3.4 Design that is not excessively menu-oriented and that avoids mouse-overs. Each page shall indicatewhere a visitor is in the site. Visitors shall be able to move quickly through the site without waiting forgraphics/videos to load, although we want the ability to provide links to videos and podcasts should avisitor decide to explore them.
