Turf Mowing – Assigned areas shall be “semi-fine” moved to a height between 1.5 inches and maximum of 2 inches exposure, from street curbs to water edge, trim along the curbs, sidewalks, headwalls, signs, posts, trees, etc. in the designated areas. Mowing shall be performed in such a manner that it results in a smooth and level cut that conforms to the existing grade. Gouging, scalping or similar actions shall not be permitted. The Contractor is responsible for maintaining the turf without causing ruts, damage to green spaces or any flood control devices. If any damages to green spaces or other flood control devices is determined to have been caused by the contractor then he/she will be responsible for repairing to the satisfaction of the Department of Parks and Parkways. Turf Edging – In immediate conjunction with each mowing, the Contractor shall mechanically edge the turf at all locations where grass meet surface paving whether it be concrete, asphalt, brick, or some other paving material. Edging shall be performed in such a manner that it results in a continuous sharp and straight edge to a minimum depth of 1 inch all along the hard surface/turf area interface.
