The Gas Utility District No. 1 of East Baton Rouge Parish plans to replace existing PVC Natural Gas mains with approximately 138,000 linear feet of 4-inch PE coiled pipe and approximately 36,850 linear feet of 2-inch PE coiled pipe in the northwestern and southern portions of the gas system service area. The project also requires the replacement of service pipe totaling approximately 38,500 linear feet of 3/4-inch PE pipe. Included in the new gas distribution system is the installation of 4 and 2 PE ball valves, tracer wire pedestals, and necessary road bores and tie-ins to the existing 4 and 2 inch gas mains. The project also requires service taps and the transfer of approximately 618 existing customers to the new main.
