Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Objective of this project is to provide all labor, installation, materials and equipment necessary to remove the existing (4) four nonworking LED Message Centers from the topmost section of the Media Beacon and scrap. Contractor is to supply and install four (4) NEW “DAKTRONICS” RGB LED Message Centers. OR APPROVED EQUAL: (1) 112 X 56 MATRIX (2) 168 X 56 MATRIX (1) 196 X 56 MATRIX Or approved equal. Clean or replace all connections in the upper section of the beacon tower. Will get the LED panels functioning correctly. • Protect the connections from water damage with die electric gel inside the connector and silicone outside the connector, preventing additional corrosion. • Remove the pigtail connectors that are not being used to prevent water from getting inside these connectors and causing electrical problems. Removing the spare pigtails would not only eliminate the potential for water damage, it would also provide a much cleaner looking installation. Install custom standoffs to accommodate proper mounting geometry of all new boards. • Alter the very top of the beacon tower to prevent water from getting to the back of the LED panels. This is the root of all the problems we have experienced in the upper portion of the beacon tower plexi-glass and silicone will be used to block the open gaps on the top plate of the tower. The top plate of the tower has wide open gaps that allow water to fall right on the back side of all this electrical equipment.
