The City of New Orleans Law Department (the “Department”) seeks professional firms to provide General Outside Counsel Legal Services. The Department reserves the right to engage more than one firm in each category. Depending on the circumstances of the matter requiring legal services, selected firms may be requested to work collaboratively with other selected firms. The selected respondents(s) will be responsible for the following services to the Law Department: - Provide professional legal advice and assistance to the Law Department, on an as needed basis; - Represent the City of New Orleans, as requested, in circumstances where the City Attorney’s Office has a legal conflict or where additional legal resources and expertise are necessary. To that end, the Department seeks qualified and experienced law firms which may be engaged to represent the City of New Orleans, as needed in each of the following categories: Category 1: General Litigation; Appellate; Category 2: Professional and Non-Professional Services Contracts Litigation; Category 3: Public Bid Law and Bid Protest; Construction; DBE and SL/DBE; Category 4: Municipal Bonds; Tax; Public Finance; Bankruptcy and Creditor/Debtor Rights; Category 5: Civil Service; Employment and Labor; Category 6: Local Governments (including liability and intergovernmental conflicts); Ethics; Category 7: Real Estate Finance and Development; Land Use; Real Estate law (including title search and closing, state/local/FAA lease law); Environmental; Category 8: Complex State Litigation; Category 9: Complex Federal Litigation/ Constitutional Litigation
