The STPG Grants Department applies for grants under the FEMA Hazard Mitigation Assistance programs including but not limited to the annual Severe Repetitive Loss Grant Program (SRL) and Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) for Presidentially Declared Disaster Funding. Funding from these programs provides the necessary project funding to reduce or eliminate the long-term risk of flood damage to severe repetitive loss structures insured under the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) and other parish infrastructure and assets. The Parish is interested in procuring the services of an administrative consulting firm to prepare and submit applications as necessary and to implement the programs, if funded. STPG wishes to directly mitigate residential properties that are designated SRL or have flood damage from a presidentially declared disaster (HMGP) by elevation or acquisition of the existing structures. In addition, as available, STPG will apply for other Hazard Mitigation Assistance programs to directly mitigate residential or commercial properties that are designated as SRL or RL. The parish is currently implementing mitigation grants within its own employees. Those grants may also be part of the grants to be administered by the selected proposer(s).
