Specifications include, but are not limited to: study, design, bidding andconstruction engineering of Miscellaneous Water Projects to improve the resiliency and reliability of theCity' s water system for providing drinking water and fire protection. The Consulting Engineering Firm willwork directly with the Clean Water Shreveport Program Management Team and the City. The scope ofwork for this project is related to the water transmission and distribution system infrastructure includingwater mains, elevated storage tanks, ground storage tanks, underground clear well storage, boosterpumps, bulk water stations, aerial utility crossings, service meters, services, valves, fire hydrants andmisc. related water assets. The work requires a thorough understanding of open trench construction ofunderground utilities, dry auger boring, utilizing horizontal directional drilling for installation of water pipe,utilizing pipe bursting for replacement of water pipe, winter freeze protection, temporary water systemsand rehabilitation of existing elevated tanks / ground storage tanks / clear well storage and boosterpump stations. Consulting Engineering Firm must have experience with understanding pump systemcurves, pumping equipment selection, motor control devices, level control systems, electrical panels andcontrols, structural, SCADA, emergency generators, HVAC, pipe and valve arrangements, concreterehabilitation, industrial paint coatings and temporary water distribution service.
