BEYOND DAMAGED AREA IN BOTH DIRECTIONS ALONG RAIL AND TO TOP OF CURB AND/OR DECK (IF NECESSARY). 2. EXPOSED REINFORCING STEEL SHALL BE STRAIGHTENED AND THOROUGHLY CLEANED OF ALL DIRT, DUST, RUST, SCALE AND ANY OTHER FOREIGN MATERIALS. DAMAGED BARS SHALL BE REPLACED BY DRILLING & EPOXYING NEW BARS OF SAME SIZE TO 6 EMBEDMENT. 3. LAP SPLICE NEW REINFORCING STEEL BARS OF SAME SIZE IN AREA TO RECEIVE NEW CONCRETE. 4. DRILL & GROUT NEW DOWELS, OF SIMILAR SIZE OF EXISTING BARS, FOR RAILING POST TO CURB AND CURB TO DECK CONNECTIONS (IF NECESSARY). 5. APPLY CORROSION INHIBITOR TO REINFORCEMENT AND BONDING AGENT TO CONCRETE SURFACES RECEIVING NEW CONCRETE. 6. PLACE NEW CONCRETE TO MATCH ORIGINAL DIMENSIONS AS SHOWN ON THE DETAILS AND IN EXISTING PLANS. NOTES: I. MINIMUM LAP SPLICES SHALL BE 26". 2. DRILL & EPOXY DOWELS SHALL HAVE THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM SHEAR WORKING LOADS: POST (#7 BARS) = 15,000 POUNDS CURB (#4 BARS) = 5.000 POUNDS EPOXY SHALL BE FROM THE LADOTD APPROVED MATERIALS LIST: #7 BARS - AML 1017M00270 #4 BARS - AML 1017M00270
