Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Contractor shall be responsible for all aspects of the salvage and demolition, including but not limited to means, methods, coordination and shut down of all utilities impacted by the demolition work, obtaining permits required, and any coordination with regulatory agencies that maybe required in order to complete the Project. The Contractor shall be responsible for performing the work, including final site restoration. The Contractor shall be responsible for the removal and proper disposal of all elements of the buildings and other structural features to be demolished as part of the Project. The University has retained an abatement contractor for the Project. Please see the Abatement Section of this IB for additional information. In general, for non-paved sections of the site, the area must be capped with a minimum of 6” of compacted DGA or other suitable material approved by the University. If the Contractor proposes to use crushed concrete from the demolition as a finished surface, the Contractor must demonstrate to the University that the material is free from hazardous materials, free from all ferrous materials, and can be reasonably compacted to create a durable surface, and the Foundation must have approved the use of such material. All subcontractors’ release documents must be provided before payment is made to the Contractor. The Contractor shall be responsible for all coordination and work necessary to shut down the utility services to the buildings to be demolished.
