Specifications include, but are not limited to: Fayette County Public Schools is looking for a vendor(s) to provide school nurses for each school and District program. Duties to include (but not limited to): Provide at least a .5 Registered Nurse for each traditional school site (excluding the eight (8) sites with school clinics. Provide a Registered Nurse or a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for District programs. An LPN may cover programs with student populations of 100 students or less. Train school personnel in emergency and daily medication delegation in accordance with all Kentucky Revised Statutes (KRS) and Kentucky Administrative Regulations (KAR). Administer daily medications through UAPs or nurses with appropriate logs and safeguards Organization of field trip medication lists, medications and documentation, coordinate with school personnel and vendor covering trip Perform clean/sterile urinary catheterizations as ordered and/or train and delegate UAP to perform cath procedure or supervise a student who self-caths with supervision. Administer enteral feedings (when requested) and train, delegate, and oversee staff who administer feedings on a daily basis. Perform/assist blood glucose monitoring, insulin administration and Diabetes Management, including training, delegation, and oversight of UAP who work with students daily. Complete bed bug and head lice interventions (including detection, parent education and awareness) Monitor allergy aware areas of school and educate students and staff regarding Life Threatening Allergies and exposure prevention. Provide input on school wellness committee Notify Building Principal and District Health Services Coordinator of acutely ill or injured students or staff Notify Health Department and District Health Services Coordinator of any reportable communicable diseases Communicate with school personnel, parent/guardians, District Health Services Coordinator as needed for care of students Perform First Aid and CPR/AED as needed. Review student health records for compliance with mandated school entry requirements Documentation and data reporting of services provided according to established guidelines Utilizing community contacts for additional resources as needed Assisting in the Health Screenings of students such as hearing, vision, scoliosis, BMI and subsequent follow up referrals as requested. Maintain a clean First Aid and Health Room, compliant with HIPPA regulations Comply with confidentiality requirements of the Board of Education (Federal Education Rights and Privacy Act – FERPA).
