The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Field Acquisition Office, located in Grand Prairie, Texas intends to solicit for the provision of Mortuary Services as prescribed below at the Federal Medical Center (FMC) in Lexington, Kentucky 40511. The contract type is an indefinite delivery/requirement type contract with firm fixed pricing. The contract period will consist of a base period from date of award through 12 months, with four (4) one-year option periods and an optional six-month extension. The North American Industrial Classification (NAICS) code is 812210 – Funeral Homes and Funeral Services, (Size Standard of $12.5 Million). The contractor must be properly licensed to perform both burial and embalming, in the State of Kentucky (following Kentucky Administrative Regulations (KAR) Title 201 Chapter 015, Regulation 110). The contractor must agree that the quality of all materials and services furnished will not be inferior to the specifications. All state and interstate shipment laws relating to the embalming, preparation, burial, and shipment of the body must be fully observed and complied with, and in any case wherein the state law contains Requirements more rigid than the requirements set forth herein, such laws will be controlling. The contractor will also maintain insurance necessary to cover all potential losses. The contractor will hold harmless FMC Lexington from all third-party claims that may arise from the operation of this contract
Provision of mortuary services may include, but is not limited to transportation, embalming, body preparation, clothing, filing of certificates and permits, casket, shipping, cremation, and burial services. Mortuary services shall be performed for the male and female AIC population housed at the Federal Medical Center (FMC) Lexington, located at 3301 Leestown Road, Lexington, Kentucky 40511, who become deceased during incarceration.
