FRONT AXLE: Twin, tandem steer axle. Each axle 20,000 pounds minimum capacity and visible front oil
seals, and have 20,000-pound capacity suspension with heavy-duty shock absorbers.
REAR AXLE: Heavy-duty tandem with 46,000-lb. capacity, along with a 20,000-lb. air operated pusher axle.
Axle spacing of all three axles is to be 54”. An inter-axle differential lock to be provided to lock wheels sideto-side and front to back. Gear ratio to allow the vehicle to travel approximately 65 mph.
TIRES: Front 425/65R22.5, 20 ply, mounted on 12.25 steel disc wheels, min, Rear 11R22.5, 14 ply, mounted
on 8.25 steel disc wheels, Pusher as required by Bridge Inspection Unit manufacturer.
TAG AXLE: Complete with spacer kit, air controls, tires and wheels to match the rear tandem axle. The tag
shall be a double convalescent air lift type, self-steering, with air up and air down capability. Tag axle rating
of 13,000-lb. and installed on the Bridge Inspection Unit subframe.
