Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Project involves elimination of the campus high pressure district steam distribution system in the last campus building currently served by it, Jacobs Hall. Establishment of a new low pressure steam boiler plant, dedicated to Jacobs Hall and located in a new Boiler Building on the opposite side of the parking lot, will allow continued use of the existing legacy two-pipe steam radiator heating system in this historic structure.The project includes construction of the new out-building, with heating and ventilation units, a new gas-fired boiler, new gas service to the building, new boiler make-up water and feed system, floor drainage system and sump pumps, underground piping and conduit for connection to the existing mechanical room in Jacobs Hall, new power and lighting systems, demolition of existing high-pressure steam system piping and connection of new piping to the existing system in Jacobs Hall, with related controls work in both buildings.
