The need of the agency is to have psychometrically validated and legally defensible theory and practical examination to demonstrate knowledge of a school’s curriculum in the fields of Cosmetology, Nail Technology, Esthetics, Blow Dry Styling, Cosmetology Instructor, Nail Instructor, and Esthetics Instructor. Specifically, this would include sanitation requirements and practical skills that comply with the Kentucky Board of Cosmetology regulations and statutes. The agency is requesting theory and practical exams to potentially be scheduled by our KBC staff and administered by KBC proctors. Our examinations will be given across the Commonwealth of Kentucky at high stakes testing centers as available. The theory supplies to be provided by the vendor shall include: DBT examination, correspondence on scoring with candidate and agency exam admissions document containing pertinent identifying information for verification of identity and education provider for exam entrance and theory candidate information bulletin which shall consist of content outline. Practical examination supplies to be provided by vendor are CBT practical examination instructions for exam, scoring module, correspondence with candidate and agency on scoring, admissions document containing pertinent information to verify identity and education provider for exam entrance. Any required ADA compatible requirements will also need to be accessible for exam types, including but not limited to: additional tome allowances, special scheduling, independent rooms (if vendor provides exam proctoring or space) and reader programs for theory examinations.
