Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1) Capitol Dome - Survey and identify masonry restoration and maintenance requirements of the Capitol Dome. There was a complete restoration of the dome in 1998 and it is currently due for cleaning, painting, repointing mortar and general maintenance. 2) Roof Maintenance and Masonry – The roof of the State Capitol was replaced in 2005 and is currently under a Siplast warranty that expires in 2025. However, a recent infrared survey indicates that water has infiltrated under the roofing system through porous brick masonry at the roof perimeter. The intention of this project is to restore the water tight integrity of the brick masonry and replace / maintain roof areas as required. 3) Window Restoration – There are over 200 windows on the capitol building. The intent of this project is to conduct a survey, document and specify levels of restoration work required at each window opening in accordance with the National Park Service, U.S. Department of the Interior, Secretary of the Interior Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties.
