The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) is soliciting bids for the removal, transportation, and recycling of waste tires and highway tire scrap generated within KYTC Districts 1 through 12. Contracts and awards will be made by individual District. The successful bidder shall furnish all labor, equipment, containers, transportation, permits, and services necessary to remove and properly recycle waste tire materials in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Waste tire scrap will be generated at KYTC facilities and designated locations within Districts 1–12. Exact locations are listed in the extended description of the commodity lines of this solicitations. 1.01 Service Requirements The successful vendor shall provide the following services: Container Provision Provide a thirty (30) cubic yard roll-off container or equivalent-size open-top trailer(s) at each selected site. Containers must be suitable for the storage and transport of waste tires and highway tire scrap. Notification and Pickup Pick up waste tires upon notification by KYTC personnel when the container is full. Pickup must be performed within a reasonable time frame as agreed upon with the District. Material Removal Remove all waste tire materials placed in the container. Materials may include, but are not limited to: Passenger vehicle tires Truck tires Off-road or highway tires Tires with rims The vendor may not selectively remove materials; all waste tire items present must be removed.
