Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Rhode Island Department of Administration, Office of Purchases, on behalf of the RhodeIsland Department of Education (RIDE) is requesting proposals from qualified organizations toact as a System Manager to provide oversight and management to Rhode Island's statewidetransportation system for special needs and nonpublic out-of-district students in accordance withthe terms of this solicitation. The statewide system is planned to be implemented in two stages,beginning with out-of-district transportation, and will eventually include all schools and students.While the plan is to proceed with Group 1 implementation on July 1, 2009 for summer programsand at the start of the 2009-2010 school year, the contract anticipated as a result of this RFP willbe contingent upon final passage and approval by the legislature mandating the requirements
