Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. Company should collect solid waste and recycling in the City of Jeffersontown pursuant to the bid specifications (attached hereto, and made a part hereof) according to the following guidelines: 1. Collection location at each residence shall be at curbside of the home. • Each residence will be provided with up to two (2) 95-gallon carts for solid waste collection and one (1) 65-gallon cart for recycling. Individuals requesting more carts will contact company and the company will bill the individual monthly. • Estimated number of pickup locations: Resident – 9,013 and Condos - 773 2. Collection of solid waste shall be one (1) time per week at each residence or designated condos. Company will need to provide a list of the holidays that they observe. City of Jeffersontown will except if regular collection days falls on or after one of the company’s observed holiday, all collection days for the remainder of that week will be moved forward one (1) day. 3. Collection of recycling materials will be one (1) time every other week at each single-family residence 4. One (1) large and/or bulky item placed at the curb will be collected on normal collection days. Extremely heavy or bulky refuse, such as stoves, refrigeration, etc. will be hauled by company at a price agreed upon between resident and company. 5. Glass clipping, brush, trimmings, and leaves, placed in paper yard waste bags, plastic bags or containers properly marked as “Yard Waste Only” may be placed at the curb to be collected by company one (1) time each week at each single-family residence. 6. Company agrees to provide service for the removal of Christmas trees each year on regular collection days, and there is to be no special preparation of said trees for collection. 7. Contract expires on June 30, 2024, which is a Sunday. If there is a new solid waste & recycling company their trash and recycling bins should be distributed during the week of June 24, 2024. Current solid waste & recycling company will need to pick up their trash and recycling bins after final pickup during the week of June 24, 2024. 8. The following container service is required for the City of Jeffersontown. • Public Works – 30YD roll-off container • Skyview Park – 8YD container • City Hall – 6YD container • Chamber of Commerce – 8YD container • Jeffersonian (Old Community Center) – 8YD container • Plainview Swim & Tennis Center – 8YD container • David Armstrong Gymnasium – 8YD container • Youth Football Facility – 8 YD container • New containers may be required at the new Police department building and Amphitheater once construct has been completed in 2025. These containers will be added when required.
