60 HOUR: Horizontally locate private underground utilities at sites throughout the state. DWM drilling may extend up to 30 feet below ground surface and occur in close proximity to building footprints or buried utility lines. Requirements: -- Horizontally locate private underground utilities and at requested sites using methods such as, but not limited to, electromagnetic (EM) and real-time ground penetrating radar (GPR) to detect utilities and anomalies. -- Must be able to perform services on a statewide basis, including very remote areas; -- Upon request, must provide photos of the marked utilities; -- Upon request, must provide GPR data for review; -- Must use environmentally safe paint and flags to identify any discoveries (DWM will work with contractor to determine acceptable methods to be used); -- A map or image of the site will be provided to the contractor, or DWM will meet on-site to confirm the area and assist with access; -- All findings must be marked according to APWA standards; -- DWM will contact 811 prior to requesting service.
