The successful bidder must be certified to print ballots for the Optech 3-P Eagle voting system. Certification to print these ballots from Election System & Software must be included with the bid response. Dane County requires the following types of ballots: 1 sided, 2 column ballots, 1 sided, 3 column ballots, 2 sided, 2 column ballots, 2 sided, 3 column ballots. In most cases, the county does not put the name of the municipality or ward ID on the ballot except for the Spring Election (All ballots get names and/or ward ID’s for the Spring Election). Ward ID’s are put on ballots in some of the Madison polling places for all elections. Different colored ballots are necessary for polling places where more than one reporting unit votes. If more than one color ballot is required, the following colors must be used: The first color listed (white) has the largest number of ballots; the second color (blue) has the next largest number; etc. Colors (in order): white, blue, green, cherry, buff, orange, gray. Absentee ballots will be the same color as the regular ballots. Sample ballots are always yellow.
