Specifications include, but are not limited to: The proposed project (approximately 13.6 acres total) consists of portal closures and drainage control reclamation in Floyd County. The project area is located on the United States Geological Survey (USGS) 7.5’ McDowell quadrangle (see the attached project and site maps). The May McKinney Site consists of closing 3 portals behind the McKinney residence, constructing a concrete bag wall along a tributary bank, and installing drainage controls around the home. The site is located at 770 Ned Fork Road, near the community of McDowell, KY. The project area is centrally located at N 37° 25’ 20.80”, W 82° 41’ 36.90”. To reach the site from the AML Prestonsburg office, turn right onto S. Lake Drive (SR 1428) for 0.2 miles. Turn right onto KY 302/Watergap Road for 2.6 miles. Continue straight and road becomes KY 80. Follow KY 80 for 8.2 miles. Turn left onto KY 680 for 6.2 miles. Turn right onto KY 122/KY 1929 for 2.5 miles. Turn left onto Ned For Road for 0.75 miles. McKinney residence is on the right.
