OUTER SHELL MATERIAL - JACKETS AND PANTS The "ARMORTM AP" outer shell shall be manufactured by Safety Components and constructed of 67/33 Para-Aramid/Meta-Aramid with a comfort twill weave, having an approximate weight of 6.5 oz. per square yard. The color of the garments shall be natural/gold. THERMAL LAYER AND MOISTURE BARRIER The thermal layer shall be Glide Ice™ face cloth quilted to DWR treated 2.3 oz NOMEX®/KevlarⓇ spunlace & DWR treated 1.5 oz AraFlo® and the moisture barrier shall consist of GORE-TEX CROSSTECH® BLACK NOMEX®, fabric woven from spun fibers (pajama check) with enhanced bi-component ePTFE membrane. JACKET CONSTRUCTION The jacket construction shall mimic the natural shape of the body to support natural movement and reduce firefighter stress and fatigue. The design should balance the weight of the turnout gear and have contoured sides, so it moves with the body.
