Specifications include, but are not limited to: This RFP is for research and data analysis. The studies require close interaction with divisions of the Office of the Executive Vice President for Research, College of Business and affiliated groups that are involved in the commercialization and innovation using UofL research discoveries. An examination of functional and business practices, internal interactions and national scale research on university practices and policies for innovation will be conducted. The Executive Vice President for Research Office coordinates efforts of approximately 150 people in 14 divisions. These groups interact extensively with internal as well as external constituents. There is a need for an external person to scrutinize our public face electronically, examine our business practices and interactions among these divisions and analyze interactions with a variety of entrepreneurial stakeholders at UofL, Louisville Metro and the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Services include becoming familiar with each divisions’ web presence, roles and responsibilities in order to generate suggested improvements regarding website functionality, consistency and appeal; conduct interviews with office directors to assess challenges, barriers and opportunities for improvement in the Research Administration processes; appraise the readiness for ULTRA system cultural transformation and examine the best way to integrate with business practices; conduct a search of leading research institutions’ websites for comparison; assess and report on practices between academic and private sectors involved in commercialization activities, such as Healthcare (Health informatics, bioinformatics and predictive medicine) and Applied Sciences and Engineering (Bioengineering, medical technology innovations, sustainable and renewable energy, etc.)
