A. DEMOLITION 1. The demolition of existing walk-in coolers/freezers, existing roof structure if applicable, refrigerant lines, condensing units, racks, etc. will be performed by another contractor. Coordination is required to ensure project is following timeline. B. CONSTRUCTION 1. Walk-In Coolers and Freezers to be constructed of prefabricated panels to allow convenient and accurate field assembly and future enlargement by the addition of panels. 2. All interior and exterior walls and ceilings to be skinned with 24-26 ga. embossed galvalume (color detailed below). 3. All panels shall be NSF certified. 4. Interior floor .100-.125” aluminum tread plate with foamed in-place plywood underlay. 5. Insulation to be 25 flame spread – 450 smoke. 6. Electrical components of walk-in cooler/freezer to be UL approved. C. PANEL FABRICATION 1. Standard wall and ceiling panels shall be 47” and 23” in width and shall be interchangeable with like panels. Ceiling height will be determined at sight visit. Corner panels to be 12” x 12” ninety degrees for strength and ease of installation. Panels shall be foamed in place urethane insulation sandwiched between interior and exterior metal substrate. Edges of panels shall be foamed in place tongue and groove with cam action locking devices. Locking devices to be foamed in place at the time of fabrication. D. FLOOR CONSTRUCTION 1. Floors to support approximately 800 pounds per square foot of rolling traffic evenly distributed floor loads when panels are fully supported. Interior floor, when applicable, shall be .100- .125” aluminum Diamond tread plate with foamed in place plywood underlayment (some exceptions). 2. Panels are to be fabricated, installed and sealed to provide an airtight assembly. 3. If ramp is required, it may be diamond aluminum plate if applicable. 4. Threshold to be installed must provide a smooth transition and allow carts to move in and out of the unit with ease. A flush transition between the inside and outside is preferred but may not be applicable at all sites. 5. ALL freezers must have floors. 6. Cooler floor required if existing unit has one in place.
