The Boone County Fiscal Court is receiving Bids from KYTC Pre-Qualified Contractors for the replacement of wood guardrails for three (3) bridges in Boone County. Boone County Public Works is responsible for maintaining guardrails for all county-maintained bridges. Three (3) bridges have been identified as having existing wood railing that have exceeded their useful life. It is the intent of the Public Works Department to receive bids for replacement of the existing wood railing, posts, post attachments, terminal sections, and pedestrian railings with a powder-coated, steel guardrail system meeting KYTC Standard Specifications and AASHTO Standards. The pedestrian railing may be constructed from alternative materials, provided it complies with OSHA standards for pedestrian fall protection.
