Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, Kansas Public Works Department/Water Pollution Control Division is interested in receiving bids for wet well cleaning of various pump stations and flood pump stations. Once a wet well cleaning is started, Contractor must return in a timely manner and complete the cleaning process. Contractor will block off flow to wet well and Unified Government Staff will pump sewage from wet well with sewage lift pumps until they begin to come air locked, in some cases the wet well can be held down by hand operation of the pumps. Contractor and UG Staff will coordinate all activities seventy-two (72) hours prior to initiating any work at the pump station. There may be certain situations in which the influent gate will not completely isolate all influent flow into the wet well. In these cases, the Contractor along with WPC Staff must determine what will be necessary to accomplish the maintenance task. It will vary, but approximately three (3) feet of sewage and sludge will remain in the wet well.
