The City of Santa Ana (City) is seeking proposals from qualified firms (Proposers) to provide design, fabrication, and installation services for the Main Library Children’s Area Exhibits. The successful Proposer shall develop a series of nature-themed, interactive educational exhibits and dimensional murals that will be installed in the Children’s Library. Exhibits and manipulatives will feature immersive garden and animal illustrations, constructed of high-quality building materials and comprised of simple designs that are artistic, colorful and inspire patrons to play, imagine and learn. Although the City is currently planning a historical restoration of its locally iconic Main Library that revives the building’s midcentury design intention, this space should have a unique design aesthetic that includes immersive elements that provide the visitor with a sense of other-worldliness and make-believe. With the aim of making the Children’s Library a more interactive and multigenerational experience, the City and Library would like to design and build a variety of age-appropriate spaces that engage children and families in learning, exploring, and developing fine and gross motor skills. The space will include three designated areas that appeal to school age children, toddlers and infants, along with multigenerational families, respectively.
