Department of Public Works, Fort Leavenworth, KS is seeking current relevant experience, personnel, and capability to work that includes but is not limited to repair porches: The purpose of the Sources Sought is to get interested vendor with these capabilities and outline the requirements for the Pavillion at Grant Park, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
The work to be done consists of furnishing all plant, labor, equipment, and materials as well as the following:
Construction of a ~858 S.F. open air pavilion consisting of a slab-on-grade floor; heavy timber wood columns, beams, trusses and rafters; a wood tongue and groove ceiling and standing seam roof panels; poured reinforced concrete foundations and column bases with limestone veneer; load bearing and non-load bearing poured concrete walls and concrete masonry unit walls with limestone veneer; LED lighting, power outlets and power supply from the park’s main electrical panel. Construction includes a. slab-on-grade courtyard with exterior light poles and connecting sidewalks. This acquisition will require a general contractor with experience and expertise capable of managing numerous subcontractors and trades at the same time, and will require expertise in project management, construction scheduling, cost estimating and quality control.
Civil: Grubbing and grading of the building and plaza footprints and earth excavation for isolated spread footings; soil compaction and import of gravel fill for footers and slabs; final grading for positive drainage away from structure.
Structural: Installation of formwork, reinforcing and concrete pour of spread footers, columns and stem walls, slab-on-grade plaza and pavilion floors and sidewalk; erection and installation of a pre-engineered heavy timber superstructure consisting of shop fabricated heavy timber trusses, columns, beams and roof rafters.
Architectural: Installation of ashlar patterned limestone veneer over poured concrete and CMU backup walls; installation of cast stone caps and lintels; installation of a tongue and groove plank ceiling, standing seam metal roofing and roof diaphragm, gutters and downspouts.
Electrical: Connection to power supply located within the park boundaries; trenching of primary electrical supply line to the pavilion, installation of pole lights in the plaza area, installation of gooseneck and ceiling mounted LED fixtures in the pavilion; installation of timers, switches and weather protected power receptacles.
This acquisition will require a general contractor with experience and expertise capable of managing numerous task orders at the same time, which will require construction scheduling, cost estimating, quality control, and coordination of subcontractors in a wide variety of construction trades.
The contract to be awarded under this contract will be for construction in Fort Leavenworth, within the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 236220 (Commercial and Institutional Building Construction) with a corresponding Size Standard of $45 million.
