Specifications include, but are not limited to: Kansas child welfare is a collaborative system comprised of several key entities working together including, but not limited to: DCF, family preservation and foster care /reintegration/adoption case management grantees; an adoption exchange with a post adoption resource center; licensed foster homes; group homes; organizations representing youth in foster care, parents/caregivers and foster families. Courts and child welfare agencies must work closely together as they are both responsible for protecting children and strengthening families experiencing child abuse and neglect. The perspective and role of relative, foster and kinship families is crucial to improve outcomes for children in foster care. These families need a unified voice to represent their interest s and needs in partnership with others to assist in building a stronger child welfare system in Kansas.
