Specifications include, but are not limited to: ➢ Tree planting (bare root seedlings and RPM trees). Bidder must supply all equipment, labor and materials (excluding trees). Most sites will be crop fields or portions of crop fields that are being planted to trees, but in some instances may include supplementing existing stands. Installation of tree shelters, deer guards, and/or weed mats may be required. ➢ Spraying – Tree planting maintenance. Bidder will supply all equipment, and labor to complete foliar application of herbicide to control competing undesirable weeds (principally sericea lespedeza and/or Johnsongrass) within tree plantings. Spraying will be done by hand or with shielded applicator to protect desired trees from spray. Owner will supply herbicides. Invasive plant spraying (ATV/UTV). Spot spraying or broadcast spraying invasive plants (garlic mustard, sericea lespedeza, etc.) in woodlands or along woodland edges to control noxious weeds or undesirable vegetation with ATV/UTV unit. Owner will supply herbicides. Invasive plant spraying (backpack/hand held). Application of herbicide by use of hand held or backpack sprayers to control invasive plants (garlic mustard, Japanese honeysuckle, bush honeysuckle, trumpet vine, etc.). in woodlands where ATV’s cannot operate efficiently. Owner will supply herbicides. ➢ Timber Stand Improvement. Work may include treatments such as hack-and-squirt, girdling with herbicide application, cutting with herbicide application, or basal bark treatment. Bidder must be able to determine species and make selective application to achieve project objectives. Bidder will supply all labor and equipment necessary to complete any treatment. Owner will supply herbicides. ➢ Timber Stand Inventory and Management Plans. Stand inventory and management plan preparation will be tailored to meet Wildlife management objectives specified by the Owner. Plans will be provided in paper and electronic form. Plans will include inventory and analysis, goals and objectives for stand, detailed prescription of work needed, including methods to be utilized and recommended follow up evaluation timing, and standards that will be used to measure success of initial treatment. ➢ Timber Marking. Mark stands for timber harvest per criteria provided by Owner. Assist with bidding and monitor harvest.
