Specifications include, but are not limited to: The existing HVAC systems and associated ductwork and controls in this facility were installed in 1995. These units have reached their end of life. There have been numerous component failures over the past several years and it is time to replace these units. There are a total of five units that serve this building. All five units are air cooled DX with outdoor compressors and indoor air handlers, DX coils and electric heating. Select units have control and/or backdraft dampers and duct mounted smoke detectors and all units are monitored and controlled by a Johnson Controls BAS system. Three of the units are air cooled heat pumps but due to compressor replacements and other obsolescence issues, it is believed that they are no longer operating as heat pumps. Units 1A and 1B provide 7x24x365 cooling to the Radio Equipment and Data Center room. These units are redundant to each other with only one unit operating at any time. The BAS system sequences the units to maintain uniform runtime and starts the standby unit should the lead unit fail to maintain temperature or to operate. Both units connect to a common supply duct that distributes air into the space. These units also share a common ducted return. These units are constant volume. Units 2A and 2B provide conditioned air to open office area in a single zone, constant volume configuration. Five lay-in type diffusers supply 2,250 cfm of air to this space. Unit 3A provides conditioned air to the break room, main entry corridor, restrooms and the emergency staff room. This unit supports 5 VAV terminals.
