Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Working in coordination with the supervising Clinical Chaplain, develop and implement a faith-based initiative project/program that will enhance spiritual/religious services for patient/resident care by working through community-based organizations, churches, synagogues, temples, etc. and the LSH Superintendent, other LSH executive committees, and SPTP Spiritual/Religious Counsel as indicated/required. 2. Work with local churches, synagogues, mosques, and temples to provide mental health and social services to LSH patients and church members and sometimes to the broader community including but not limited to Spiritual/Religious education for all faith groups, social activities, worship opportunities, new callouts, etc. 3. Work with a broad array of Protestant groups that provide support and educational resources to religious congregation to enhance faith-based delivery of mental health services and programs. 4. Work with mainstream religions that have set up relatively autonomous national agencies to provide social and mental health services that are largely secular in nature but are provided because of religious mission or values. 5. Work weekly with community clergy to utilize a combination of both secular and religious treatment strategies depending on the religious orientation of LSH patients and community for referral to Mental Health Services. 6. Work a total of 5 days per week, 8 hours each of the five (5) days for 50 weeks each year as agreed upon with the supervising Clinical Chaplain. Submit a detailed invoice every two weeks for payment.
