Specifications include, but are not limited to: The area of civil litigation for which the Office of Attorney General seeks proposals is civil forfeitures. The Attorney General anticipates the Contractor will provide representation of the State of Kansas in all aspects of litigation related to civil forfeitures. Services shall include, but not be limited to, appropriate factual and legal investigation of claims; filing and responding to motions and other pleadings; conducting appropriate discovery; engaging appropriate expert, consulting, and litigation support services; negotiating with opposing counsel; appearing on behalf of the State in hearings and at trial(s); prosecuting or defending appeals; and taking all appropriate steps to collect or enforce any recovery, injunctive relief, or settlement that may be obtained and/or negotiated. The Attorney General may assign Contractor to work with designated staff of the Attorney General’s Office. The identity and responsibilities of the designated staff shall be determined solely by the Attorney General. The Contractor will act pursuant to the terms of a signed, written agreement with the Attorney General.
