Conduct one or more project scoping workshops. Include area leaders and transportation officials to understand local concerns and desired study outcomes. Consider opportunities for public and stakeholder involvement. Conduct a traffic analysis, including travel demand modeling and micro simulation, as appropriate. Review traffic safety and identify opportunities along the corridor for safety improvements. Evaluate existing and future land use planning and economic analysis. Identify potential utility, environmental and historical property impacts. Perform an alignment analysis (K-4 extension and City of Auburn bypass). Make corridor improvement recommendations and provide related cost estimates. Analyze then recommend a preferred turnpike interchange location. Conduct a bridge analysis at the SW 93rd and SW Auburn Road interchange locations. Evaluate the existing bridges for structural capacity and functional requirements, considering changes in traffic volume and type. Should the existing bridges remain under an interchange scenario? Generate traffic projections (origin-destinations, freight, ect.) Identify future funding sources.
