Specifications include, but are not limited to: Sutlers Store is on the grounds of the old Historic Fort Dodge at the corner of Highway 400 and Sheridan Ave. It was built by the soldiers in 1870. Many soldiers spent their months pay check at the store for a variety of refreshments and meals. However, todays clients will consist of residents, staff and visitors of the Fort. The Kansas Soldiers Home will grant the successful Contractor the exclusive right to manage and operate the Sutlers Store at the Kansas Soldiers Home located at 714 Sheridan. The Kansas Soldiers Home will provide all food and supplies as agreed upon by both parties. Hours of operation are to be 7 A.M. to 3 P.M. Monday through Friday. Saturday and Sunday hours of operation are optional and at the discretion of the Contractor. Short order food items, noon specials and convenience store items such as household needs, cleaning supplies, etc. shall be offered by the Contractor as agreed upon by both parties. The menu and products offered and prices of individual products to be sold shall be determined by mutual consent of the Contractor and the Kansas Soldiers Home.
