The City of Roeland Park (hereafter, “City”) is seeking submittals for a Sustainability Consultant to assist the City in developing a plan to implement the regional Climate Action Plan (CAP). The City adopted the Regional Climate Action Plan via Resolution 690 on July 6, 2021. The Kansas City Regional Climate Action Plan places special emphasis on local governments with an ambitious goal of reaching net zero emissions by 2030 for City/County operations. The foundation for an implementation plan is the completion of a Greenhouse Gas (GHG) inventory. An initial energy assessment of the Community Center was completed in 2012 by George Butler Associates. In the time since, the City has made great strides in reduction of its emissions including: • Installation of solar panels on city facilities • Upgrades to high efficiency HVAC systems • Incorporation of energy efficient lighting • Improvements to insulation and roofing systems • Inclusion of water conserving fixtures • Usage of hybrid and electric vehicles • Expansion of our EV charging station infrastructure in partnership with Johnson County
