The selected art provider will be responsible for: ● Weekly On-Site Classes: Delivering one art class per week, either in designated classrooms or in a suitable space located in the basement of our Vogel building. The exact schedule will be coordinated with school administration. ● Curriculum Development & Adaptation: Designing and implementing art projects and activities that are fully accessible and meaningful for students with varying degrees of vision and hearing loss. This includes, but is not limited to, incorporating multi-sensory approaches, tactile elements, auditory cues, and adaptations for limited dexterity. ● Collaboration and Coordination: Working closely with teachers and paraprofessionals to understand individual student needs, integrate art experiences with classroom learning, and ensure seamless transitions and support during classes. ● Communication Adaptations: Demonstrating proficiency in adapting communication methods to suit individual student needs, including the use of tactile communication, American Sign Language (ASL) (if applicable to student population), visual aids for low vision students, and clear verbal instructions. ● Social and Physical Adaptations: Fostering an inclusive and supportive environment that addresses the social and physical needs of students, promoting participation and independence in art-making. ● Material Provision: Providing all necessary art supplies and materials, ensuring they are safe, non-toxic, and suitable for the student population, with consideration for tactile and sensory properties.
