The Kansas Department of Agriculture (KDA) Division of Conservation has funding to address streambank erosion and reservoir sedimentation in the John Redmond Basin. The John Redmond watershed is one of the three Kansas watersheds identified as priority areas for sediment control by the Kansas Water Vision. Rehabilitation of the riparian forest buffer adjacent to the stream is also a goal of this project. Streambank sites on the Cottonwood River have been designed for stabilization. Surveying and design was completed in 2024 by the designer firm. Based on the proposed designs, this Invitation for Bid (IFB) has been issued by the KDA Division of Conservation for construction of the streambank stabilization project. The KDA Division of Conservation is requesting bids for streambank stabilization on the Cottonwood River in Lyon County, Kansas. The work includes furnishing all labor, materials, equipment and incidentals required for the streambank stabilization. There is one site requiring stabilization in this bid group. Additional bid and contract provisions have been included with the Invitation for Bid (IFB). Services to be Provided: The Contractor shall furnish the necessary personnel, material, equipment, services, and facilities (except as otherwise specified), to perform the Statement of Work/Specifications referenced in this section. NOTE: Contractors may submit a bid proposal for performing the Statement of Work/Specifications for all “Sites” identified in the following table and drawings OR may submit a bid for performing the work on selected “Sites”. The contractor will be notified by the state when construction can commence.
