Campus Coverage 1. Snow removal labor will be provided for the entire 70+ acre KUMC campus and designated remote buildings. 2. Coverage areas include but are not limited to: all sidewalks, pedestrian pathways, exterior stairways, building entrances, ramps, and emergency access points. 3. The winning contractor will not be responsible for streets, parking lots, or parking garages. Labor Requirements 1. Contractor is responsible for supplying enough qualified laborers to perform snow removal, de-icing, and salting duties during each winter weather event. Labor needs will be decided on by the contractor and KUMC Facilities Management team prior to weather event. 2. Laborers must provide their own transportation to and from campus unless otherwise coordinated by the contractor. 3. Contractor must ensure all laborers arrive fully equipped with sufficient hand tools, including snow shovels and ice scrapers for all personnel. PPE and Safety 1. All contractor personnel must wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to gloves, insulated coats, waterproof boots, and any other weather-appropriate gear necessary for safe operation in extreme conditions. 2. KUMC reserves the right to dismiss any laborer not properly equipped or found to be operating unsafely.
